Prosper Ogum Embraces Pressure As Kotoko Adapts To Obuasi Fortress
Asante Kotoko head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, has admitted that his team faces alot of pressure as they adjust to their new adopted home, the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium away from their traditional Baba Yara Sports Stadium for this season’s home fixtures.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko managed to extend their unbeaten run in the Ghana Premier League with a hard-earned 1-0 victory over reigning champions FC Samartex on matchday seven. Coach Prosper Ogum acknowledged the relentless expectations of the club’s passionate supporters, which keeps the pressure high whether they play in Kumasi or Obuasi.
“Everywhere Kotoko plays, there’s pressure, It’s not only at Baba Yara. Here in Obuasi too, there’s pressure, but I think we’ve managed it well.”
Prosper Ogum expressed confidence in his team’s ability to thrive under pressure, affirming that expectations remain the same regardless of venue.
Kotoko’s latest victory keeps them unbeaten and currently in second place on the league table with 14 points, while FC Samartex, now fifth with 10 points, seeks to find their form.
