CAF President Addresses Ongoing Investigations Into Maltreatment Of Visiting Football Countries

President for Confederation of African Football (CAF) Patrice Motsepe has responded to the troubling reports of maltreatment faced by visiting football teams in host countries for all competition .

Speaking at the ongoing 46th General Assembly in Addis Ababa , CAF President Patrice Motsepe emphasized that an investigation is currently underway to assess the situation that happened in Libya between the Nigeria and Libya for the 2025 African cup of nations which made Nigeria to boycott the game. He insisted that the institution will take proper action after investigating the incident involving the Nigerian national team at the Al Abraq Airport ahead of their clash against Libya. 

The CAF President highlighted that these investigations are crucial not only for maintaining the integrity of the sport but also for promoting a culture of respect and fair play across Africa. He stated that host countries must treat visiting teams with the utmost respect, emphasizing that football is a universal language that unites nations.

As CAF continues to prioritize player welfare and the overall experience of visiting teams, CAF President Motsepe’s proactive approach sends a clear message: accountability and fairness are non-negotiable principles in African football.
