Fraud and Security Consultant Mr Richard Komadoe has addressed the rumors regarding the possible deployment of military personnel to Parliament on Tuesday due to the ongoing tensions between the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The dispute centers on who will claim the Majority and Minority seats in the house, following the Speaker’s ruling on the vacant status of four parliamentary seats and the Supreme Court’s subsequent suspension of that ruling.
Mr Komadoe clarified that the Supreme Court has not declared the Speaker’s actions as right or wrong.
Rather, the Court has only suspended the decision, which has sparked confusion and speculation. He emphasized that the suspension allows Parliament to reassess the situation, and he expects that Tuesday’s session will offer the Speaker an opportunity to provide further clarification and guidance.
Speaking during an interview on “Adekyee Mu Nsem” with host Citizen Kofi, Mr Komadoe offered some insight into the confidential nature of parliamentary proceedings.
“Parliament is like a secret society,” he said, suggesting that much of what transpires within its walls remains out of public view.
When asked about the potential deployment of military personnel to Parliament, Mr Komadoe expressed uncertainty.
“I don’t know what they are going there to do,” he remarked, implying that the presence of soldiers at such a sensitive time could raise concerns.
He, however, did not dismiss the possibility that the authorities might be taking precautions to ensure order during what promises to be a tense session.
All eyes are now on Tuesday’s parliamentary sitting, as the Speaker’s decision could have far-reaching implications for the political landscape and power dynamics in the house.
The presence of military personnel would only add another layer of intrigue to an already charged situation.
