The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Okaikwei South Constituency, Ernest Adomako (Keon), has called on residents to break their 28-year loyalty to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming December elections.
He urged them to reject the NPP for the first time in nearly three decades, accusing the party of neglecting the community despite consistent support from voters.
Speaking at a mini rally during the visit of NDC Presidential Candidate John Dramani Mahama, as part of his two-day tour of the Greater Accra Region, Mr. Adomako Keon questioned, “What development has the NPP brought to Okaikwei South after 28 years of our votes?” He asked the crowd, asserting that the ruling party had taken the people for granted.
Keon also highlighted his efforts to improve the area, even while in opposition.
“I am already working on fixing our roads, something the sitting MP should have done. She even chased me with security for doing her job,” he said.
He promised that if elected, all road networks in Okaikwei South would be repaired within the first 12 months of the NDC taking power.
Beyond infrastructure, Ernest Adomako Keon vowed to improve the local healthcare system.
He pointed out that the only government hospital in the area, the Kaneshie Polyclinic, lacks modern equipment, a situation the NPP has failed to address.
He assured residents that under an NDC government, the hospital would be renovated and upgraded to meet modern standards.
Additionally, Keon promised to address the deteriorating conditions at the Kaneshie market, noting that drivers and traders have long complained about the market’s poor state.
He pledged to ensure its renovation, further committing to making Okaikwei South a priority under his leadership as Member of Parliament.
