2024 Elections: This election is the perfect chance to send the elephant back to the bush – John Mahama

The Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has declared that the 2024 elections present the perfect opportunity to send the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into opposition.

Addressing supporters at a mini rally in LA Olimpia within the La Dadekotopon constituency during his two-day tour of the Greater Accra Region, Mr. Mahama blamed the NPP for the economic hardships currently plaguing Ghanaians.

He emphasized that the NPP’s poor governance has resulted in widespread suffering, while party leaders remain unaffected.

“This is the right time to send the elephant back into the bush,” Mr. Mahama said. “The NDC is different from the NPP. We don’t make promises we can’t keep, unlike the NPP, who will promise you heaven but deliver nothing. The economy we handed over has been mismanaged, and now we’re all hungry, while the NPP’s bellies are full.”

John Mahama praised Naa Odoley Sowah, the Member of Parliament for La Dadekotopon, for her efforts in providing skills training to 500 youth in the constituency.

He highlighted this initiative as a key component of the NDC’s agenda, which includes a national apprenticeship program to equip young people with practical skills for employment.

Concluding his address, John Mahama urged Ghanaians to reject the NPP in the upcoming elections, pointing out that the ruling party has failed them twice and shouldn’t be given a third chance.
