You are beginning to appear like a supporter of LGBTQ- Sam George to President Akufo-Addo.

Ningo-Prampram Member of Parliament, Hon. Sam Nartey George has called on President Akufo-Addo to clarify his position on the LGBTQ+ Bill currently awaiting presidential assent.

According to Hon. George, the people of Ghana, are eager to hear where the president stands on the issue, as it has been eight months since Parliament passed the bill.

He urged the president to either sign the bill into law or openly state his views on the matter, noting that former President John Dramani Mahama has already made his stance clear.

Hon. George expressed concerns that President Akufo-Addo’s silence on the issue could be interpreted as support for LGBTQ+ rights, which, he claims, is against the will of the people of Ghana, especially his constituents in Ningo-Prampram, who strongly oppose LGBTQ+ activities.

In addition to his remarks on the LGBTQ+ bill, Hon. Sam George also addressed the issue of illegal mining, commonly known as “galamsey.”

He criticized the president for not taking decisive action against members of his own government, including ministers, party executives, and MPs, who are allegedly involved in the practice.

Hon. George advised the president to focus on cleaning up his own administration before pointing fingers at others, likening it to removing the “log from his own eye” before addressing the faults of others.

Through his statements, Hon. Sam George has made it clear that both issues—the LGBTQ+ bill and galamsey—require urgent and transparent action from the president to demonstrate his commitment to the values and welfare of Ghanaians.
