If Mahama is only known for dumsor then Akufo Addo will also be known for galamsey – Black Rasta.

Black Rasta, a Ghanaian reggae Kuchoko artist and radio presenter, born Abubakar Ahmed, has sharply responded to President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo’s recent remarks about former president John Dramani Mahama.

The president had made a jab at Mahama during a speech, suggesting that whenever Mahama’s name is mentioned, Ghanaians only remember “dumsor” (the power crisis).

In his response on his Urban Blend radio show, Black Rasta criticized Nana Addo for failing to tackle illegal mining (galamsey) despite his promises.

He labeled the president as a “galamsey kingpin,” accusing him of not delivering on his commitment to fight the environmental crisis and claiming Nana Addo has acted cowardly in this regard.

Black Rasta pointed out that under Nana Addo’s leadership, mysterious circumstances, such as “ghosts” owning land and gifting it to their families, have occurred.

Furthermore, Black Rasta defended Mahama, noting that despite the power crisis during his tenure, the former president is remembered for tangible projects like hospitals, schools, flyovers, and CHPS compounds.

He also accused Nana Addo of engaging in deceptive talk to promote his vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as the next presidential candidate.
