I handed over a strong economy to NPP, but their mismanagement led us into hardship – John Mahama

John Dramani Mahama, the flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has strongly criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for what he describes as a severe regression in the country’s development.

According to Mr. Mahama, the NPP has mismanaged the economy, undoing the progress made during his time in office and plunging the nation into a state of economic turmoil.

Speaking at Afienya during his two-day tour of the Greater Accra Region, Mr. Mahama expressed his frustration, stating that he handed over a healthy and thriving economy to the NPP.

However, their lack of competent governance has led to widespread economic hardship, which could have been avoided if they had a clearer understanding of how to manage the country’s resources.

During the #Mahama4Change2024 tour, which aims to engage residents and share his vision for the upcoming December elections, Mr. Mahama called on Ghanaians to vote out the NPP.

He emphasized that the nation is in desperate need of change, and the people deserve a government that can steer the country back on track which is the NDC.

His campaign focused on meeting local communities, including chiefs and residents, where he discussed the pressing challenges facing the nation and why he believes he is the right leader to address them.

Central to his message is his 24-Hour Economy policy proposal, which he plans to implement if re-elected.

This proposal, according to Mahama, would boost productivity and create jobs by ensuring that key sectors of the economy operate around the clock.

In his address to the chiefs and people of Afienya, John Mahama promised to tackle the poor state of infrastructure in the area.

He pledged to fix the deplorable roads, which have long been a source of frustration for residents.

Furthermore, Mr. Mahama committed to constructing a new E-Block secondary school in the Afienya enclave, aimed at improving access to quality education and providing opportunities for the youth in the region.

Mr. Mahama reiterated his vision of a better Ghana, driven by competent leadership, economic recovery, and a commitment to uplifting the standard of living for all Ghanaians.

He urged voters to choose the NDC in the upcoming elections, promising that, under his leadership, the country will regain its footing and move toward a brighter, more prosperous future.
