Nana Aba Anamoah, a broadcaster, recently faced criticism for expressing her support for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s proposed solutions to tackle the issue of illegal mining, also known as galamsey.
In response to the backlash, Nana Aba took to her social media account to reiterate her unwavering stance on political matters. She emphasized that she stands by everything she posts online and urged her critics to understand that their disparaging remarks would not sway her perspective.
Addressing those who took offense to her endorsement of the current government’s approach to combating galamsey, Nana Aba suggested that they “get themselves a stiff drink.” Furthermore, she candidly acknowledged that she has faced criticism from both the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the past, stating that it is a normal occurrence for her.
She expressed her resilience, asserting that she is not swayed by attacks from either party and emphasized her independent stance in political matters. Nana Aba went on to commend Vice President.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his comprehensive approach to addressing the challenges posed by illegal mining. Specifically, she praised his strategy of empowering the Geological Survey Authority to accurately map mineral reserves and establishing a resource pool of equipment to support sustainable mining practices.
In her assessment, Nana Aba highlighted the Vice President’s deep understanding of the complexities surrounding galamsey and expressed her approval of the realistic measures proposed to effectively combat this pressing issue.
