The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has condemned the alleged actions of an individual believed to have used a firearm to harm party supporters during a peaceful health walk in Mamobi, a suburb of Accra. This incident is both bizarre and unfortunate, highlighting the need to address the troubling behavior of those embedded in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who seek to incite violence.
Mustapha Foyo Gbande, the Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, expressed these sentiments during the Adekyee Mu Nsem morning show on Ahotor 92.3 FM, hosted by Citizen Kofi Owusu. He emphasized the necessity of taking decisive action against these troublemakers to ensure peace leading up to and following the December 7th elections.
Gbande placed responsibility on the government for failing to control the proliferation of small arms in the country, noting that state-issued firearms have made their way into the hands of party supporters. He estimated that around five thousand state pistols are unaccounted for and believes they are being distributed to party affiliates to facilitate unlawful activities against innocent civilians.
In related news, the Ghana Police Service has successfully restored calm in Mamobi following violent clashes between supporters of the NPP and the NDC. The altercation resulted in nine individuals being injured, heightening tensions in the community.
The police responded quickly to the unrest and have begun efforts to apprehend those responsible. An update on their social media channels confirmed that the perpetrators have been identified and that actions are underway to bring them to justice.

The Ghana Police Service has restored order in Mamobi after disturbances between NPP and NDC supporters resulted in nine injuries. Seven of the injured have received treatment and been discharged, while two remain hospitalized.
An intelligence-led operation is currently in progress to apprehend those identified by the police and ensure they face justice.
