“Vote NDC or Stay Jobless: Prof. Opoku-Agyemang

The Running Mate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has urged the youth to rally behind the Party and vote in favor of its ambitious 24-hour economy policy in the upcoming December 7, 2024, general elections.

Addressing a gathering of young people at the Church of Pentecost L.A. Nyarko Century in Suhum on Tuesday, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang emphasized that the NDC’s return to power would prioritize job creation for the youth.

She argued that the 24-hour economy, a key pillar of the NDC’s platform, is designed to drive massive employment opportunities by ensuring that businesses operate round the clock, creating more jobs across multiple shifts.

The NDC’s plan, she explained, includes engaging with large companies to ensure they expand their workforce under the three-shift system. Prof. Opoku-Agyemang pointed out that this policy would boost productivity, increase income, and significantly enhance the country’s economic growth.

“John Dramani Mahama’s vision is centered on youth empowerment,” she said, urging the youth to vote for Mahama to make this vision a reality. “He will ensure that young people gain access to jobs that offer decent wages and growth opportunities.”

In addition, the Suhum constituency women’s organizer for the NDC, Lydia Ohenewaa Afasi, voiced strong support for the 24-hour economy policy, highlighting its widespread acceptance among Ghanaians.

She also lauded the NDC’s proposal to establish a Women’s Development Bank, which would support women entrepreneurs and create further employment.

Hon. Afasi appealed to the youth to cast their votes for John Dramani Mahama as president and Prince Kwadwo Tabiri as the parliamentary candidate, stressing that their leadership would bring lasting change and prosperity to the nation.
