Mahama Poised to Create Jobs for the Youth- NDC National Youth Organiser

The National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. George Opare Addo, has emphatically reaffirmed former President John Dramani Mahama’s unwavering commitment to addressing youth unemployment and revitalizing the economy.

Speaking at Nsawam Adoagyiri Zongo during the Eastern regional campaign tour alongside NDC vice-presidential candidate Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Mr. Addo highlighted bold initiatives set to be implemented by the next NDC government.

He spotlighted transformative policies such as the 24-hour economy, the National Apprenticeship Programme, and the Big Push as the cornerstones of job creation under Mahama’s leadership. These initiatives, he stressed, will restore economic dignity to the youth.

Mr. Addo further revealed that Mahama’s administration would harness digital innovation as a tool for empowerment by training one million Ghanaian youth in coding, signaling a forward-looking approach to job creation in a tech-driven world.

Turning his attention to education, Mr. Addo assured supporters that the NDC will absorb academic fees for all first-year students in public universities come 2025. He firmly dispelled rumors of any intention to cancel the Free Senior High School (SHS) program, clarifying that the NDC would instead enhance it.

Drawing parallels with the NDC’s transformation of the health insurance scheme during Mahama’s previous term, he pledged that the Free SHS program will be elevated under the expertise of educationist Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.

In a rallying call to the youth, Mr. Addo urged them to vote decisively for the NDC in the upcoming elections, stressing that only a Mahama-led government can reset the country, create meaningful jobs, and foster true economic empowerment for women and the nation’s youth.
