Akufo-Addo is speaking “by heart” because all election rigging plans have been exposed – Mahdi Jibril

Deputy Director of Elections for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mahdi Jibril, has criticized President Akufo-Addo over his comments on France 24.

During an interview on France 24, President Akufo-Addo accused the NDC of putting “unnecessary pressure” on the Electoral Commission ahead of the 2024 elections.

He expressed confidence in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) victory, dismissing the NDC’s accusations that the Electoral Commission was sabotaging the electoral process.

The authenticity of the voters’ register was one of the issues discussed, but the President insisted that the concerns raised by the NDC had been resolved.

Responding to these remarks on Ahotor FM’s morning show ‘Adekyee Mu Nsem’ with host Citizen Kofi Owusu, Mahdi Jibril expressed his disappointment, stating that it was highly inappropriate for the President to make such statements on international media.

“It was very unfortunate for the President to go out there on international media to speak as though he were an NPP communicator,” he said.

Mahdi Jibril believes President Akufo-Addo is frustrated because the NDC has exposed alleged plans to manipulate the 2024 elections in favor of the NPP.

“Nana Addo is speaking recklessly because he is frustrated that every attempt to rig the elections for his party has been exposed,” he remarked.
