Goodies Music Boss believes that musicians need to refresh their brands

The CEO of Goodies Music, Isaac Abeiku Aidoo, recently shared his perspective on the current state of the Ghanaian music industry.

According to Aidoo, many local musicians are not reaching their full potential due to inadequate branding and the necessity to reinvent their image.

In an interview on Ahotor mmre with Obaapa Janee, he emphasized the significance of musicians refining their public image to meet both local and international standards. He highlighted that in today’s music industry, talent alone is not sufficient; it’s about the complete package.

Aidoo cited artists like Burna Boy and Wizkid as examples of global success, attributing their achievements not only to their music but also to their compelling brand image.

The astute Goodies Music boss expressed concern about Ghanaian artists with undeniable talent who struggle to break into wider markets.

He emphasized that while Ghana produces world-class music, some artists are missing the bigger picture in terms of presenting and marketing themselves effectively. Aidoo underscored the importance of artists evolving and rebranding, stressing the significance of visuals, social media presence, and strategic collaborations.

He advised artists not to fear reinventing themselves, pointing out that in the digital age, one’s brand holds immense importance. He also suggested that artists may need to collaborate with professionals well-versed in modern marketing techniques to achieve international success.

As the Ghanaian music industry continues to evolve, it is evident that artists need to carefully consider how they are perceived both domestically and internationally.

Whether through updated visuals, innovative social media strategies, or even a change in branding, repositioning could be the key to unlocking greater success for some of Ghana’s talented musicians.
