In response to allegations from some political parties that the Electoral Commission (EC) is manipulating processes in favor of the ruling government for the 2024 elections, the EC Chairperson, Jean Adukwei Mensah, has dismissed these claims.
During an Inter Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting, she emphasized that election results are generated directly from polling stations across the country, not from the EC headquarters, making it impossible to rig elections in favor of any political party.
Jean Mensah further highlighted that the commission is committed to ensuring transparency in all aspects of the election process, aiming to build public trust.
She assured political parties that a revised provisional voter register would be available within two weeks for scrutiny.
Additionally, she affirmed the EC’s readiness to address concerns raised by political parties, stakeholders, civil society organizations (CSOs), and citizens through initiatives like the “Let the Citizen Know” forum.
She called on Ghanaians to have confidence in the EC’s ability to conduct fair and credible elections.
