My previous lost in elections has influence my goal for prosperous Ghana – John Mahama

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Mahama, claims that his losses in previous elections have influenced his goals for a more prosperous Ghana. Even if those were disappointing, he claims that they caused him to think carefully about how, if given another chance, he would effectively improve the nation.

The former president revealed this during an event dubbed Fellowship with the clergy in East Legon, Accra, on Tuesday. Mr. Mahama expressed hope that winning a second term as president would provide him the ability to better manage and utilise Ghana’s resources to enhance the socioeconomic standing of the country’s citizens.

“I’ve had the chance to lead this nation previously, as well as to lose an election and observe from the sidelines. I think the wisdom I’ve gained from this reflection will help us get this country back on track.

“Not everyone has the same opportunity in this election that God has for me. The chance to do it earlier, take a break, then return to complete it more skilfully,” he said. Mr. Mahama emphasised that Ghana needs a kind leader who will put the welfare of the people first.”The people in the next election will be offered this kind of leadership by the NDC.

A leadership that would fight corruption, avoid extravagance, be truthful with the populace, and prudently use the riches of the country to foster opportunity and prosperity for all of us,” he declared Prior to the election on December 7, Mr. Mahama was able to ask the clergy for advice and prayers at their meeting.
