*NDC Insight Urges Ghanaian Youth to Rally Behind John Dramani Mahama for a Sustainable Future**
Accra, Ghana – In light of the ongoing demonstrations against the alarming neglect of our environment and the health of our citizens, NDC Insight calls upon the youth of Ghana to redirect their passion and energy towards a more pragmatic solution: joining forces with John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to secure a decisive victory in the upcoming elections on December 7, 2024.
The silence and inaction of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia regarding the devastating impacts of illegal mining, or “Galamsey,” have left many Ghanaians feeling abandoned. Protests, while a valid form of expression, only lead to the arrest of responsible citizens who are deeply concerned about the future of our environment and the well-being of both present and future generations. The use of harmful chemicals in gold mining poses a significant threat to our water bodies and public health, and we cannot afford to allow this situation to escalate further.
NDC Insight calls on the President and Vice President to declare all Galamsey sites a state of emergency. However, we recognize that the entanglement of the highest offices in our government with illegal mining activities makes genuine action unlikely. The NPP’s deep connections with Galamsey operators compromise their ability to address this urgent issue.
It is clear that the only viable path to halting the destruction of our environment and ensuring a sustainable future for our youth lies in voting for John Dramani Mahama and the NDC. The current administration has proven time and again that they are unwilling to act in the best interests of the people, prioritizing their political ambitions over the health of our nation.
NDC Insight firmly believes that peaceful advocacy is essential. We do not condone violence, and we urge all citizens to understand the frustrations that have led to the current demonstrations. Unfortunately, in Ghana, civil dissent has often been met with repression rather than dialogue. This is unacceptable, especially when the government itself is implicated in the very issues that concern our citizens.
We invite all Ghanaians to unite under the banner of the NDC and support John Dramani Mahama in his bid to reclaim the presidency. Together, we can put an end to the inhumane practices that have plagued our nation under the NPP and build a brighter, more sustainable future for all.Let us rally together for change.
Let us vote for progress. Let us choose a leader who will prioritize the health of our people and our planet.
We have endured the illegal activities and negligence of the NPP for far too long. With only two months left until the elections, it is abundantly clear that the NPP has no intention of addressing the rampant issues surrounding Galamsey. Their inaction speaks volumes about their priorities and commitment to the Ghanaian people.
NDC Insight urges all protesters and concerned citizens to rally behind the NDC and John Dramani Mahama in this critical time. Together, we can reset our country and forge a new path towards accountability, sustainability, and a brighter future for all Ghanaians.
The time for change is now. Let us unite our voices and efforts to bring about a government that truly cares for the welfare of its people and the environment. Together, we can reclaim our nation and ensure that the voices of the youth are heard and respected.
