Rev. Christian Kwabena Andrews, the flagbearer of the opposition Ghana Union Movement (GUM) in the upcoming general elections, has announced his plan to revoke all mining licenses and make the government the sole entity responsible for mining in the country if elected.
This initiative, according to Sofo Kyiriabosom, aims to combat illegal mining activities and protect the nation’s water bodies, forests, and lands from further degradation.
During a media interaction on his campaign tour, the GUM leader and founder of Life Worship Assembly Church explained that his government would employ more youth in the mining sector, creating responsible and sustainable employment opportunities.
He stressed that under his leadership, foreigners would not be allowed to exploit Ghana’s natural resources, and those who refuse to comply would face stringent actions, including the deployment of “macho boys” to enforce the law.
Rev. Andrews concluded by urging Ghanaians to vote for him in the upcoming elections, promising to transform Ghana into a better place for all citizens.
He appealed to voters to recognize his vision on the ballot and support his leadership to safeguard the country’s resources and provide meaningful employment.
