I will end galamsey within 30 days of my presidency – Kofi Koranteng.

Independent Presidential candidate for New Vision Movement Kofi Koranteng, has declared that illegal mining, commonly known as galamsey, will end within 30 days of his presidency if elected in the upcoming December 7 elections.

Speaking on an Accra-based television station, Koranteng outlined the severe environmental and societal dangers posed by galamsey, emphasizing the urgent need for action.

Koranteng criticized both the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), arguing that galamsey has thrived under their leadership.

He urged Ghanaians to vote against these major parties, which he claims have failed to address the problem.

He highlighted that those involved in illegal mining are primarily driven by the need to survive, suggesting that if the government were serious about job creation, there would be fewer people engaging in galamsey.

Koranteng called on Ghanaians to vote for a leader genuinely committed to addressing the country’s challenges, warning that failing to do so could leave the nation stuck with the same problems for another four years.
