NDC Insight Calls for Vigilance as NPP and Dr. Bawumia Launch Last-Minute Developments in Ghana

Accra, Ghana – 9th September 2024 – As the 2024 presidential elections in Ghana draw near, NDC Insight is urging Ghanaians, especially those in the Volta Region and remote areas, to be cautious of the sudden massive developments initiated by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the last 90 days.

NDC Insight questions the timing of these projects and wonders why they were not undertaken during the almost eight years that the NPP has been in power since 2017. The issues being addressed now have existed since the NPP took office, prompting NDC Insight to raise concerns about the motives behind the sudden surge in development efforts.

“Why now, just 90 days before the election, have these projects suddenly become a priority for the NPP?” asks NDC Insight in a statement released today. “It is clear that these last-minute developments are aimed at swaying votes in their favor and manipulating the electorate.”

The NDC Insight points out the proliferation of graders and excavators across the country, highlighting that such heavy machinery has been conspicuously absent throughout the majority of the NPP’s term in office. NDC insight call on fellow Ghanaians not to be swayed by what they perceive as election manipulation tactics and to critically evaluate the true intentions behind these sudden developments.

NDC Insight warns that falling for these last-minute projects could result in Ghanaians being deceived by what they deem as cheap election tactics. Encouraging citizens to remain vigilant and question the timing of these developments, NDC Insight emphasizes the importance of making informed decisions based on a thorough understanding of the political landscape.

NDC Insight also recalls a concerning statement made by Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, running mate of Dr. Bawumia, who indicated that he would organize a nationwide demonstration if Parliament includes the Keta Sea Defence in their bill. This highlights the NPP’s inconsistent commitment to development, revealing their focus on political maneuvering rather than genuine progress for the people of Ghana.

“Let us not be fooled, my beloved Voltarians and Ghanaians as a whole,” NDC Insight urges. “If the NPP truly cared about development, why have they waited almost eight years to address these crucial projects? The urgency of their actions now is clearly tied to the upcoming elections.”

NDC Insight emphasizes that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is prepared with reasonable and achievable developmental projects, presented in their recently launched manifesto. “This is what Ghana urgently needs. We must rally behind the NDC and His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, along with all our parliamentary candidates nationwide, to ensure a visionary leader who is committed to building our nation,” the spokesperson concluded.

The NPP’s recent actions reflect a desperate bid for political power rather than a true commitment to the welfare of Ghanaians. It is imperative that citizens recognize this pattern and make informed choices for the future of our country.

As the election approaches, NDC Insight remains committed to providing insights and analysis to help Ghanaians navigate the political environment and make informed choices for the future of the nation.
