A Country Like Ghana Deserves Better Pitches In Their National Stadiums – Pedro Gonçalves Laments
The head coach of Angola National team, Pedro Gonçalves has expressed concern over the quality of pitches in the national stadiums in Ghana.
Speaking at the post match conference, Angola coach Pedro Gonçalves explained that although they won the game against Ghana at their home , there is the need for significant improvements in the pitches in the country’s national stadiums .
Coach Pedro Gonçalves believes that upgrading the pitches in the stadiums will not only benefit local football but also boost the performance of the national team in international competitions.
Angola secured all the three maximum points from Ghana after beating them 1:0 through Melison in the 93rd minutes in the 2025 African Cup of Nations Qualifiers at the Baba Yara sports stadium leaving the home fans dejected.
Angola will now prepare to face Sudan who won their opening game against Niger at home whiles Ghana faces Niger in Morocco on Monday.
“A country with such rich football history, talent, and passion as Ghana deserves much better pitches and a modern national stadium. The current state of these facilities does not reflect the level of football that Ghana is capable of producing”.
