Farmers and residents affected by the construction of a bypass from Asiakwa in the Eastern Region to Konongo in the Ashanti Region are demanding compensation for their lost properties.
These affected individuals, hailing from towns like Asiakwa, Osino, and Asaman Tamfoe, have seen their farms and buildings destroyed to make way for the new road, which is intended to ease traffic congestion on the Accra-Kumasi highway.
Speaking on Ahotor FM’s morning show, ‘Adekyee Mu Nsem,’ several farmers expressed frustration over the delayed compensation, highlighting the financial strain they face, especially due to loans they took out for their projects.
They urged the government to expedite the payment process to alleviate their burden.
