Bechem United have emerged champions of the 2024 GHALCA Top 4 tournament after defeating Nations FC earlier this afternoon by 2-0 to wrap up the competition at the new TnA Stadium.
All teams faced off in three rounds of matches during the one-week competition, which followed an all-play-all format.
The Hunters won all three games in the competition, beginning with a crucial 1-0 victory over Medeama SC in their opening contest. As a result, they secured a perfect record.
They finished with a decisive 3-0 win over Eleven Wise and capped it off with a crucial 2-0 victory over Nations FC to earn all nine points and the title of champions.
With six points, Medeama SC secured the second spot, while Nations FC finished third with just three points. Sekondi Eleven Wise, the winners of Western Regional Division Two, dropped all of their games and ended the season bottom of the standings.
This competition will act as a legitimate pre-season tournament for these teams, allowing them to hone their skills, find areas of weakness in their roster, and seal any gaps before the new season begins.
