NPP needs to start preparing for their inevitable departure from power – John Mahama

John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has emphatically called on the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government to begin preparing for its inevitable departure from power.

John Mahama, addressing party supporters at the NDC’s manifesto launch at the University of Education, Winneba, on Saturday, August 24, stated that the extensive damage inflicted by the NPP on various sectors of Ghana’s economy necessitates a change in leadership.

According to John Mahama, the NPP has mismanaged the country’s economy to the brink of collapse, and it is now imperative for the NPP to relinquish power to the NDC, which is poised to restore and revitalize what has been destroyed.

“We, the members of the National Democratic Congress, have gathered here today to reaffirm our unwavering commitment to democratic governance and to proclaim that the time has come for this administration to step aside. The time is up for them to go,” he declared.

He further accused the NPP of undermining Ghana’s democratic foundations, asserting that their governance has not only led to economic deterioration but has also compromised the integrity of the nation’s democracy.

Mr. Mahama’s speech served as both a critique of the current administration and a rallying cry for NDC supporters, as he promised that the NDC would work tirelessly to rebuild and strengthen the nation’s economy and democratic institutions.
