The National Democratic Congress (NDC) executives in the Pusiga constituency of the Upper East Region have cautioned the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to refrain from using indecent language, which they say could contribute to rising political tensions in the area.
The NDC urged the national executives of the NPP to call their members in the constituency to order, warning that failure to do so could result in an ugly reprisal.
Speaking at a press conference, the NDC Communication Officer for the Pusiga, Alale Baba Atimbila, expressed concern over the use of divisive and inflammatory language by NPP members.
He cautioned that such behaviour could disrupt the peace in the constituency and urged the NPP to put an end to actions that could escalate tensions.
“Hajia Laadi Ayamba has always conducted herself with the highest level of integrity and dedication to serving the people of Pusiga.
“The insults directed at her are not only a personal attack but an insult to the entire constituency. We will not stand by idle while our elected representative is subjected to such disrespect.
“Politics should be about ideas, development and the betterment of our people, not about character assassination and baseless attacks.
“We warn that if these attacks on Laadi Ayamba continue, the NPP and its candidate will suffer even more. The people of Pusiga will not reward a party or candidate that disrespects their leaders and seeks to undermine the very individual who has worked tirelessly for their development.”
