Redick Set To Lead The Lakers In The Upcoming NBA Season

Los Angeles Lakers will commence their training sessions for the upcoming NBA season led by their newly appointed head coach, Jonathan Clay JJ Redick.

The regular season is set to kick off on October 22, 2024 , having secured Redick on a four-year coaching contract back in June, the Lakers made a bold move by entrusting their team to the former NBA player despite his lack of prior coaching experience.

Redick’s professional basketball career spanned from 2006 to 2021, after which he shifted gears towards a broadcasting career rather than coaching. Despite Redick’s unconventional path to coaching, the Lakers’ players are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to collaborate with him this season.

The organization views Redick as the definitive solution to their head coaching quest since the retirement of the legendary 11-time championship-winning coach, Phil Jackson, in 2011.

Redick will be the eighth individual to assume the role of Lakers head coach following Jackson’s tenure, with no coach managing to surpass a three-year stint with the team during that period.
