Real Madrid Wins Sixth European Super Cup
The champions of UEFA champions league Real Madrid FC has added another illustrious trophy securing their sixth European Super Cup after a commanding 2-0 victory over Atalanta.
Spanish La Liga powerhouse Real Madrid won the 2024 UEFA Super Cup when they used a space of nine minutes to beat the Italian Serie A club Atalanta on Wednesday night at the PGE Naridowy stadium in Poland.
Real Madrid was very compact and technically discipline but the Italian Europa league champions gave them a ran for their money until Federico Valverde and Kylian Mbappe Lottin found at the back of the net in the 59th and 68th respectively.
This victory marks Real Madrid’s sixth European Super Cup triumph, further solidifying their legacy in European football. The win also sets a positive tone for the season ahead, with the team aiming for more silverware under the guidance of their experienced manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Real Madrid has won the European Super Cup six times – 2002 , 2014 , 2016 , 2017 , 2022, and 2024 .
