The Americans women basketball team secured a resounding victory of 88-74 against the underdogs Nigeria .

The Nigerian female basketball team (D’Tigrees ) made history as the first Olympic team in Africa to advance to the knockout stages in the basketball tournament at the Olympics, but they were unable to upset the USA team, which boasts a 58-game winning streak and seven consecutive gold medals.

Despite being underdogs at the Olympics, the African champions caused a stir by progressing from their group to the knockout stages, aiming to leverage this momentum for future tournaments.

The Americans are now set to clash with Australia in pursuit of their 10th gold medal, potentially clinching victory at the expense of Australia in the final.
