Festivals are a vital part of human culture and society, offering opportunities for people to celebrate their traditions, express their identity, socialize, and enjoy entertainment.
However, festivals also impact the communities where they occur, especially in urban areas. For instance, the recent celebration of the Asafotufiami festival in Ada led to a scarcity of vehicles and delays in movement.
In response to this issue, Ahotor FM’s Linda Yeboah surveyed the public to gather opinions on whether increasing the number of buses would improve transportation during festivals.
Many respondents supported the idea, stating that more buses would reduce transportation costs, improve daily sales, motivate workers, and provide greater flexibility for commuters.
On the other hand, some citizens believed that adding more buses would negatively affect commercial drivers’ businesses.
Overall, the survey highlighted the need for a balanced approach to transportation planning during festivals to accommodate the needs of both commuters and commercial drivers.
