E.L, the award-winning Ghanaian rapper also known as EL, recently shared his top five lyricists in Ghana.
In an interview with DJ Slim, he explained the distinction between rappers and lyricists, emphasizing that lyricists convey messages in a more complex and artistic manner, requiring listeners to delve deeper into the meaning of their words.
His top five lyricists include Kojo Cue, King Tradey, Kev the Topic, M.anifest, and Omar Sterling (formerly known as Paedae). E.L clarified that the list is not ranked and is based on currently active and influential rappers.
This sparked discussions among netizens as some questioned the absence of well-known names like Sarkodie, Strongman, and Lyrical Joe in E.L’s list.
While some agreed with his choices, others speculated that his list may be biased towards his friends or rappers who primarily use the English language.
