France Advanced To Men’s Basketball Semi-final After Beating Canada

The host nation of the 2024 Olympics, France, has continued to exhibit exceptional performance in men’s basketball by defeating Canada 82-73, securing a spot in the semi-finals of the Olympic tournament.

France faced challenges in the group stage, experiencing a loss to Germany and requiring overtime to surpass Japan and advance to the quarter-finals.

The French team, led by Guerschon Yabusele with 22 points and Isaia Cordinier with 20 points, demonstrated remarkable resilience.

France is set to encounter Germany in the semi-finals for the second time in this Olympic event, seeking to avenge their earlier defeat in the group stage. It was a devastating defeat for Canada, who had a smooth run in the group stages remaining undefeated.

They were also considered top contenders for the title after securing a bronze medal at the World Cup.
