After serving four months in prison for mutilating the naira, Nigerian cross-dresser Bobrisky cautioned against indiscriminate spraying of money.
He emphasized that non-violent crimes could lead to imprisonment. Bobrisky expressed gratitude to friends who supported him during his time in prison.
Initially sentenced to six months without an option of a fine, Bobrisky’s counsel filed a notice of appeal seeking to replace the sentence with a ₦50,000 fine on each count.
“Don’t spray money, unless you’ll be a landlord inside Kirikiri. It’s not just about killing or any criminal activity, something light like this can take you there. I’m only focusing on my friends who were there for me, and I’m grateful. I’m not thinking about any other person,” said Bobrisky
The appeal cited the absence of prior criminal convictions and the possibility of a lesser sentence under the Administration of Criminal Justice Act.
