“One Of My Best And My Worst For This Season” – Benjamin Azamati After 2024 Olympics 100m Semi-Finals Miss

Ghanaian sprinter Benjamin Azamati has expressed of confidence of coming stronger after narrowly missing out on a spot in the semi-finals of the 100 meters at the 2024 Olympics.

While the disappointment of not advancing was a significant setback, Azamati remains optimistic and reflective about both the highs and lows of his recent performances.

Azamati, who had been a strong contender leading up to the Games and qualifying from the Heat 2 found himself just shy of the semi-finals placing 9th , making a time of 10.17 . Jamaica’s Oblique Seville won with a time of 9.81 seconds, followed by the reigning world champion, Noah Lyles, finished in second place with a time of 9.83 seconds and Louie Hinchliffe in third with a time of 9.97 seconds.

Despite this disappointment, he is choosing to view the season as a mix of valuable lessons and achievements. Benjamin Azamati had showcased impressive performances, including a standout victory at the African Championships and a personal best that had many fans and experts optimistic about his Olympic prospects.

“While not making it to the semi-finals was a disappointment, I’m proud of the progress I’ve made this season. It’s a reminder that success isn’t always linear and that setbacks are part of the journey, I’m focusing on the positives and using this experience to fuel my preparation for future competitions.”

Ghana’s last attempt on a medal would be in the 4x100m relay event where the team will compete from the semifinal stage by virtue of qualification from the Bahamas Relays championship.
