Real Tamale United Football Club (RTU), which was demoted, has named Isaac Kofi Sarfo, also referred to as Sarfo Castro, as their new head coach.
Following accusations of match-fixing, Abdul Mumin Abdulai, who was suspended for the 2023–24 season, was replaced as coach by Iddi Manzah Alhassan.
The purpose of Sarfo Castro’s one-year contract is to get RTU back into the Premier League.
After eight years in the second-tier league, RTU made a comeback to the premier league in 2021. However, following the 2023–24 season, in which they managed just 25 points in 34 games, they were demoted.
In an attempt to return to the top division, they will now play in Division One’s Zone 1.
