Sadique Broni Yeboah, the suspended Assin Central Constituency Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Central Region, has issued a three-day ultimatum to the party to reverse his suspension, failing which he will take legal action.
Yeboah, along with the Assin Central Regional Chairman, Prof. Richard Kofi Asiedu, were suspended for their role in suspending the constituency’s parliamentary candidate, Nurein Shiabu Migyimah.
Yeboah has vowed to seek legal redress if his suspension is not lifted within the stipulated timeframe.
The national leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) intervened in the dispute, declaring the suspension of the parliamentary candidate, Nurein Shiabu Migyimah, null and void.
In a letter dated July 3, addressed to the General Secretary, Fifi Kwetey, lawyers for the Constituency Secretary, Sadique Broni Yeboah, demanded that the party rescind the suspension and provide their client with a fair hearing, citing procedural irregularities and breach of natural justice.
The lawyers contended that the suspension violates the party’s constitution and internal regulations.
“We have the instructions of our client to demand from you the withdrawal of his suspension forthwith within 3 days and give him a fair hearing if you find it meets so to do.”
“Be informed that we have received strict and unqualified instructions from our client to take legal action against you in the event that you default in that regard,” portions of the letter said.
Nurein Shiabu Migyimah was suspended as the Parliamentary Candidate for the party over allegations of immoral behaviour and anti-party activities.
He was also accused of impregnating the wife of Sadique Broni Yeboah.
