The Chefs Association of Ghana has stated that Chef Smith is not a registered association member.
The General Secretary, Peter Agborvi, mentioned that they had reached out to Chef Smith’s team at the start of his cook-a-thon to register him due to his use of their logo, but he did not comply.
This has raised doubts about Chef Smith’s affiliation with the association and his professional standing in the culinary community in Ghana. Furthermore, Chef Smith’s claim of being confirmed by Guinness World Records as the world record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual has been refuted.
Guinness World Records clarified that Chef Smith does not hold the title and provided details of the actual record holder. Chef Smith started his cook-a-thon on February 1, 2024, and cooked for 820 hours until March 6, 2024, falling short of his initial target of 1,200 hours.
The use of the Chefs Association of Ghana’s logo without proper registration has raised concerns about Chef Smith’s representation of the association during his publicized cook-a-thon events.
