Abraham Koomson, the Secretary General of the Ghana Federation of Labour (GFL), has urged Ghanaians to hold the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government accountable for their economic mismanagement by voting them out in the 2024 general elections.
He stressed that corruption is on the rise and government officials found guilty of corruption should be prosecuted to deter future administrations from engaging in corrupt practices.
Mr. Koomson emphasized the need for Ghanaians to unite and support the NDC to remove the NPP from power.
In an interview on Ahotor FM‘s ‘Yepe Ahunu‘ with host Nana Dogbe, he urged the NDC to prioritize reindustrialization and job creation if they win the election.
He believes that implementing a 24-hour Economy Policy could help revive the economy.
Mr. Koomson expressed concern that the Ghanaian economy has nearly collapsed, leading to massive job losses due to systemic failures in economic policies.
He warned that trade unions could become extinct if the current trend of reckless economic management continues.
Additionally, he called for the reindustrialization of agro-industries, highlighting that these industries not only contribute to food production but also provide raw materials for the manufacturing sector.
