FA Cup Final: Arsenal win to end Chelsea’s Double hopes
Aaron Ramsey’s header won the FA Cup for Arsenal as Chelsea missed out on the Double.
Alexis Sanchez’s controversial early goal put the Gunners ahead at Wembley, where the Premier League champions were reduced to 10 men midway through the second half when Victor Moses’ dive in the penalty area earned him a second yellow card.
Diego Costa hauled Chelsea level on 76 minutes, but they switched off two minutes later, allowing Ramsey to nod in from close range.
It meant a disappointing end to the season for Chelsea and to John Terry’s Blues career, which he hoped would finish with him lifting another trophy.
They got off to the worst possible start, going behind after just four minutes.
After Sanchez used his arm to block N’Golo Kante’s attempted clearance, the ball ricocheted towards Ramsey, who was in an offside position.
