President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, has described leadership as both a privilege and a heavy responsibility, noting that the past year has tested the strength and resolve of his administration and the nation as a whole.
According to the President, Ghana has confronted significant challenges over the past year, including economic hardship, social anxiety, global uncertainties, and the legitimate expectations of citizens. Despite these pressures, he stressed that the country has remained stable and resilient.
He attributed this stability to divine guidance and the strength of Ghana’s democratic institutions, stating that God has stood by the nation, democracy has remained firm, institutions have held their ground, and the people have demonstrated patience, resilience, and faith in the future of the country.
President Mahama expressed profound gratitude to the Almighty God for the protection, peace, and safety granted to Ghana throughout the period.
He also commended the dedication of Ghanaians across all sectors, particularly the men and women who work daily to keep the country functioning and moving forward.
The President made these remarks during a non-denominational Thanksgiving Service held at the forecourt of the Jubilee House to mark his first year in office.
