Time For Government Investment in Para-Athletes Ahead of 2024 Olympics – NPC President
The President of the National Paralympic Committee Samson Deen has issued a compelling call to the government to invest more heavily in para-athletes ahead of the upcoming 2024 Olympics games in France.
Speaking at a recent press event of welcoming four Para-athletes from Morocco, NPC President Samson Deen lamented the lack of support for para-athletes’ pre-camping and training programs, warning that without proper investment, these athletes could be at a severe disadvantage.
NPC President Samson Deen further emphasized that a comprehensive plan for government investment, focusing on improved training facilities, expert coaching, medical and physiotherapy support, and accessible transportation and accommodation for para-athletes during the pre-camping phase. By investing in these areas, the government can ensure that para-athletes are not only well-prepared for the 2024 Olympics but also have the opportunity to excel and bring home medals.
The broader impact of supporting para-athletes extends beyond the Olympics. It sends a strong message about inclusion, equality, and recognition of the unique challenges faced by athletes with disabilities.
