The Manager of the Tema South District Office of the Electricity Company of Ghana, Ing. Horace Nkansah has appreciated a cross-section of stakeholders made up of some Assembly Members and opinion leaders under his jurisdiction for the various ways they help to keep the District informed on challenges with power supply within the district.
Ing. Nkansah said this at a stakeholders meeting held on Thursday, 18th April 2024 at Tema New Town CHPS compound where he met several opinion leaders together with some other officials of ECG.
Ing. Nkansah in his speech said “We are grateful to all our stakeholders for the continued support of our work, especially with regards to faults and outages affecting smaller areas or groups of customers”. He also spoke about some system improvement works such as a project at Acheampong Village, which the company was undertaking, all in a bid to improve power supply to customers.
The Assembly members also appreciated the management for meeting them to discuss issues of mutual concern and generally applauded the faults team of the District for their quick responses to issues of faults and outages while bringing up issues relating to meter acquisition and low voltage. The ECG officials responded to the issues raised and educated the gathering on how to apply for meters directly from ECG and called on them to report illegal connections as they do add up to situations of low voltage experienced by customers sometimes.
The Tema South District of ECG covers Tema New Town, Bankuman, Manhean, Parts of the Industrial area, and Communities 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.
