Historian and Political Activist Emmanuel Boamah has criticized Abetifi MP Bryan Acheampong for his remarks suggesting that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would not relinquish power to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) even if they win the 2024 elections.
Mr. Boamah emphasized that no rational military figure would advocate for war, understanding the grave consequences it entails.
Bryan Acheampong, the Member of Parliament for Abetifi Constituency, restated his position from 2023, asserting that the NPP would retain power and not yield to the NDC in the upcoming 2024 general elections.
Despite acknowledging recent economic challenges, Mr. Acheampong reaffirmed the NPP’s dedication to revitalizing the economy and demonstrating to Ghanaians the positive outcomes of their policies, aiming to secure their support in the polls.
Acheampong expressed skepticism regarding the NDC’s electoral prospects and questioned their determination to attain power despite what he perceived as their inability to win elections legitimately.
Speaking on Ahotor 92.3 FM, Mr. Boamah condemned Bryan Acheampong’s comments, highlighting the dire consequences of war and advocating for dialogue and peaceful political transitions.
