Ghana Secures Silver in Men’s 4x100m Finals at 13th African Games
In a fantastic display of speed and precision, the 4x100m relay team clinched the silver medal in the Men’s 4x100m finals at the 13th African Games.
The Ghanaian quartet – Joseph Paul Amoah, Edwin Gadaji, Hammond Solomon and Benjamin Azamati showcased exceptional teamwork and lightning-fast exchanges to power through the race with determination and their performance electrified the crowd and underscored Ghana’s standing as a force to be reckoned with in athletics.
With each stride, the team demonstrated resilience and commitment, crossing the finish line in impressive fashion, securing the silver medal in the ongoing 13th African Game.
The Men’s 4x100m Relay team finals commenced with 200m runner Joseph Paul Amoah, followed by Edwin Gadaji, Hammond Solomon, and ultimately, Benjamin Kwaku Azamati.
Ghana’s 4x100m relay team secured a silver medal after a mix up in baton change handed the advantage to Nigeria, who claimed the gold although Ghana was favorite to defend their title, having run the fastest time in qualifying.
With a previous gold medal victory in 2019 at Rabat, ahead of Nigeria, Ghana harboured high hopes of securing another gold on home soil. However, Nigeria emerged triumphant, seizing the gold in the 13th African Games.
With eyes set on future competitions, Ghana continues to inspire a new generation of athletes and reaffirm its status as a powerhouse in 4x100m in Africa.
