“NPP Yet to Receive Electoral Commission’s Plan for 2024 Elections”-Evans Nimako.

NPP Confirms No Contact from Electoral Commission on 2024 Election Plans

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially stated that they have not been contacted by the Electoral Commission regarding the schedule of activities for this year’s general elections. This announcement aligns with concerns raised earlier by the National Democratic Congress (NDC), which criticized the Commission for disclosing the calendar to the public without prior communication.

According to reports, the Electoral Commission intends to accept nominations for the presidential and parliamentary elections from September 9 to 13, marking a crucial phase in the lead-up to the peak of the political season. Subsequently, balloting for positions on the presidential ballot paper is scheduled for September 23, 2024, followed by parliamentary balloting on September 24, 2024.

Additionally, the Electoral Commission aims to announce the results of the 2024 presidential polls within three days of the voting process, provided all goes according to plan.

Evans Nimako, the NPP’s Director of Research and Elections, highlighted that the party received only an invitation for an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting from the Electoral Commission on Thursday, March 7, 2024. He emphasized that the NPP has yet to receive any official communication from the EC regarding the program of activities for the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.
