After 23 years, the Sefwi Bodi Traditional Council has made a triumphant return in celebrating their Yam Festival (Eluo Afahye). This joyous occasion follows the recent celebration by His Royal Majesty, Katakyie Kwasi Bumagama II, the Paramount Chief of Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Area.
Today, Nana Kwasi Fori Ababio, the Chief of Sefwi Bodi, along with the elders, is leading the Eluo Festival celebrations in Sefwi Bodi. They extended a special invitation to H.E. Former President John Dramani Mahama to be the Guest of Honor, but due to unavoidable circumstances, he couldn’t attend. Instead, he delegated Hon Armah Kofi Boah, the Member of Parliament for Ellebellem Constituency and the Deputy Minority Leader of Parliament, to represent him in the Sefwi Bodi Constituency.
Hon Armah Kofi Boah emphasized that the National Democratic Congress (NDC), led by Former President John Dramani Mahama, approaches the upcoming election campaign with a commitment to a peaceful and respectful discourse. He urged Ghanaians to engage in a fair and loyal evaluation of the candidates, emphasizing the need for unity and a thorough examination of the various political parties’ track records.
Furthermore, he highlighted the development projects undertaken by the NDC and the Member of Parliament for Sefwi Bodi Constituency, Hon Sampson Ahi Kwaku. Boah emphasized that these achievements should guide voters in making informed decisions about the upcoming elections. Additionally, he outlined Former President John Dramani Mahama’s vision, including his initiative for a 24-hour economy aimed at alleviating unemployment and addressing the challenges facing Ghana.
Addressing the Chief of Sefwi Bodi Traditional Council and the Elders during the Eluo Festival Durbar, Hon Armah Kofi Boah encouraged Ghanaians to evaluate the current state of affairs, consider the proposed policies, and vote for the candidate they believe will lead Ghana to prosperity.

Following his speech, Nana Kwasi Fori Ababio, the Chief of Sefwi Bodi Traditional Council, reiterated the importance and truthfulness of the sentiments expressed. He emphasized that peace, unity, love, respect, harmony, and togetherness are essential elements for building a nation. Nana highlighted that, without these foundational values, establishing a country becomes an insurmountable challenge. Conversely, when imbued with these qualities, Ghana can progress, and its communities can thrive.
Nana underscored the counterproductive nature of fighting, insulting, misunderstanding, conflicts, and disrespectful behavior, stating that these actions hinder a country’s development. He called upon everyone to unite as one, emphasizing the collective responsibility to contribute to the creation of a peaceful nation. Nana urged for a harmonious collaboration to foster the prosperity and well-being of Ghana.
