Ex-Black Star player Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has stated that he is saddened by the death of Raphael Dwamena. He said this during the burial of the late Black Star player at the forecourt of the Adjiringanor AstroTurf in the Greater Accra Region on November 17, 2023.
In an interview with Badu on the burial grounds, he said:
” It’s always sad to lose a family member, especially somebody who has not only saved his family but saved the entire nation through Association football. Raphael was a player who potentially could be one of the very best in the act of goal-scoring and was someone who would have served Ghana for long. But for the fact that he went through that period of challenge, and obviously, his life was eventually curtailed.”
Former Ghana Black Star Raphael Dwamena died on Saturday, 11 November 2023, in a game involving club KF Egnatias against Partizan with players from both teams rushing to his aid.
