A senior political science lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Dr Kwesi Amakye Boateng has alleged that, some members of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) want the party to lose the 2024 general elections so that the party can break away from President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo and his cohorts.
“Some key members are quite waiting for the party to go to opposition” he said.
According to him, he thinks there is an attempt from the side of the president to still have control on the party even if he leaves office and that is what some do not expect to happen.
He again indicated of thinking that, he believes strongly things like that are happening and most of the party stalwart has seen it.
Speaking to the media to share his view on the happenings and chances of the NPP in the upcoming election, Mr. Amakye Boateng said most of the people are stress and does not know what to do because Nana Addo is leading hence, they’re quite waiting for the party to fail, and they will react.
