Bibiani- Anhwiaso-Bekwai forestry division has refuted claims that its officers have shoot two illegal miners operating in the Wasa Ankwaaso and Wasa Juabo forest reserve.
Divisional officers Kwabena Baiden stated that his boys only gave a warning shots to defend them sieves whiles the illegal miners trying to attacked them
He said they were able to burn three excavators
During a recent visit to the Pakyi Kobri forest, it was evident that galamseyers were vigorously engaging in illegal mining operations using excavators and other equipment. Shockingly, roughly half of the Kobri forest reserve and three acres of cocoa farms have already been demolished by these illegal miners
Mr. Kwabena Baiden said they have arrested three illegal miners and handed them to the to the sefwi Bekwai police command pending their prosecution.

He further stated that the intimidation will not discourage them from protecting the forest reserves.
He also urged the chiefs and the opinion leaders to advise the youth to desist from the illegal mining
