Charles Nii Armah Mensah, a celebrated Ghanaian reggae dance-hall artist known as Shatta Wale, recently accused Hitz FM, a subsidiary of the Multimedia Group, and Despite Media, owned by Osei Kwame Despite, of contributing to the negative sentiment fans have towards him by playing hateful music. Shatta Wale is a recipient of multiple awards.
During an interview with Jay Forley and his team on 3Music, a vocal artist claimed that Despite Media, which includes Peace FM and UTV, collaborated with Hitz FM to manipulate a portion of the Ghanaian population to believe that the artist is a bad and disrespectful person.
He gets emotional seeing fans support his shows in person but wonders why they don’t do the same on social media.
Shatta Wale has been involved in multiple feuds with media houses and colleagues. Some believe that his controversial behaviour helped him achieve his current level of success.
