The reality of breaking the “8” is weathering down as the reality of the economic hardship is biting very hard. Let me be frank, the recently past district assembly election has given the political energy to the New Patriotic Party not to back out from the strategy and dynamics by using the elected assembly members who were sponsored by the party to champion the 2024 campaign for Dr. Bawumia could not be achieved.
However, be reminded that, grassroots movements, using self-organization, or political structure encourage community members to contribute by taking responsibility and action for their community. Grassroots movements utilise a variety of strategies from fundraising and registering voters, to simply encouraging political conversation.
While leveraging new political technologies is now an excellent way to develop grassroots organizing infrastructure. Far from being a shot in the dark, building a grassroots infrastructure can now be the difference between your campaign being a success or not. In effect I suspect the new DCE’s will be the vehicle to drive the agenda. Asked yourself how many DCE’s in the Volta and Oti region been fired?
As National Democratic Congress followers or sympathisers in the past assembly elections is reported to have won the majority of the seats throughout the country by all projections. This result making the NDC to gain trust and grassroots support, there is a need for the NPP to revisit their plans for the campaign to make Dr. Bawumia comfortable.
Going forward, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) strategy and dynamics to sell, brand and package Dr. Bawumia, is not flying since the grass roots of the party is been associated with a leading member of the party Kennedy Agyepong who won the hearts and minds of the party in just passed (NPP) presidential primaries.
Examining the weekend explosion from Jack Toronto, the President Nana Addo detailing the 26 new District Chief Executives (DCEs) to replace 24 others who were sacked on Friday, February 2, is nothing rather political, to use these new appointees for violent and all forms of political dirty acts.
However, in a letter of revocation on Friday, February 2, the President explained his decision is in accordance with Article 243 (3) b of the Constitution and section 20 (3) (b) of the Local Government Act, 2014, (Act 936).
The sacked DCEs include Daniel Owuredu of Nkoranza North, Elizabeth Kaaki Mann of Ga East, Patrick Kumor of Weija-Gbawe, Alhaji Abdulai Adams of Pru East and Dorcas Elizabeth Amoah of Nzema East.
It is unclear why they are being sacked.
However, in a letter hours later, the President announced the announcement of 26 new DCEs to replace those who had been sacked.
The appointment letter signed on Saturday, February 3, said, the appointment is “pending their approval by their respective assemblies.” I believe all of them will be subjected to voting and approval by the assembly members
They include Prince Dormaa Amoah of Ahafo Ano North, Samson Gbolu of Sene East, Felix Owusu Gyima of Nkwanta South and Jacob K Dumakawe among others.
The appointments are full of mixed bags, since some of the revelations has to do with how some of the incumbent members of parliament has lost their seats while others politically, has to do with; if some of the DCE, s has a political relationship with Alan Kyremateng and Kennedy Agyepong.
In my opinion, I will call on the National Democratic Congress to examine the appointment very carefully since most of the new appointed one’s are in to do the bidding of Dr. Bawumia and nothing else.
In another development, be reminded that, some of the regional ministers are not backing Dr. Bawumia in selling, branding and packaging. The reality going forward with Dr. Bawumia is; how is it going to be accepted as a marketable political product?
Which have to do with the new appointees who are loyal during the NPP presidential primaries and have to be rewarded and further stand tall to pursue the agenda of the party “break the 8”
Inadvertently, the presidency and the Dr. Bawumia,s campaign team are finding it very difficult to work together to come out with the strategic plan to convince Ghanaians to vote for the NPP.
There’s a saying that, last minutes are always dangerous, I’m tempting to be inquisitive; are these new and old DCE’s have something to hide, how are we going to question the cuts some of them has taken in awarding of contracts? And the consequences of the new one’s cancelling contracts which does not follow the laid down tendering procedures or families and friend’s political cronyism? Is it not likely we are going to see judgement debt issues coming up? Help me to asked more questions?
If you are going to appeal to your public you need to ensure the message you are communicating is engaging. The public knows what it likes, so you will be at an advantage if you know that too. The only way to put yourself in the public’s shoes is to know what makes them tick. Gather feedback from everyone, each voice is important. Thanks to advances in political technology, this has become much easier.
Though constitutionally, the president has done nothing wrong, in my opinion I think, the president is just doing the personal interest of the Vice president and not the national interest, using the state machinery to capture state power to perpetuate the NPP in power, brut force and abuse the district security structure through these new appointments who are loyal to the course of the NPP election agenda.
